The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) confirmed its attendance at this year’s China International Fair for Investment & Trade, held in Xiamen in September.
Li Yong, director-general of UNIDO, will head a delegation to the fair for a third time.
As one of the fair’s sponsors, UNIDO has strengthened its cooperation with the fair to achieve fruitful results.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the organization, a special exhibition will be staged to showcase its dedication to promoting sustainable development and inclusiveness worldwide.
UNIDO will help organize the International Investment Forum (IIF) for 2016, a fixture on the fair’s calendar. Li Yong will give speeches at the IIF’s keynote forum and other major events of the fair.
Political dignitaries from countries such as Senegal and Ethiopia are invited to attend a forum on investment in Africa, which will also be organized by the organization during the fair.
The organization will release a report on industrial transformation in Ethiopia. The report was compiled by a team of analysts led by Lin Yifu, director of Peking University’s Center for New structural Economics.
Li Yong applauded the organization’s cooperation with the fair over the past decade to push for inclusiveness and sustainable growth worldwide.
The fair’s organizers and the UNIDO pledged to share their resources to do more to promote industrial development and multilateral cooperation.
