A business delegation from Xiamen represented the city at an investment fair organized by the Fujian provincial government in Fuzhou from June 16–19.
They also attended the fifth world Fujian businessmen conference and 14th China Cross-Straits Technology and Projects Fair, held simultaneously during the four-day period.
Zhuo Tinghou, chairman of Hua Tian Heng Xin Semiconductor Co, spoke at a forum on behalf of Xiamen's private companies. Zhang Wenjiao, general manager of Iotcomm, a tech firm specializing in telecommunication, intelligent control and Internet of things technology; and Hong Mingxian, chairman of financial service company Differ Group, also attended the forum.
Chen Lisheng, director of Xiamen's commerce department, introduced Xiamen's business environment and favorable policies to Fujian businessmen currently operating in Shaanxi province, Gangu province and the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. He suggested them to consider Xiamen as an investment destination.
24 private entrepreneurs were organized to participate in a match making event for Public-Private Partnership projects to be undertaken in Fujian province. Nearly 100 PPP projects in infrastructure, utility, environment protection, technology and culture were introduced at the event, involving a total investment of 97 billion yuan.
In the 12 months from June 2015 to May 2016, Xiamen's private sector signed 102 contracts, involving a total investment of 91.3 billion yuan. Nearly half of the total investment went to manufacturing and the rest went to the service sector.
