
Local education officials announced recently that the city will license a new international school for children who hold foreign passports or who hail from Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan.
The new school will be located at the intersection of Wanshou Road and Wenping Road in Siming, which was previously the site of the Xiamen Senior Technical School before it moved to Xiang’an.
The school will include a kindergarten, primary and secondary school.

China has decided to extend its visa waiver policy to ordinary passport holders from Canada and the United Kingdom starting from Feb 17.
Forty-one new port-of-entry duty-free shops have been established nationwide, with Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport, Xiamen Wutong Passenger Wharf, and Xiamen International Cruise Center included on the list.
