The 12th Strait Travel Fair (STF) held in Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center has officially started and its pavilions will be open to the public from May 6th to 8th.
This fair is by far the largest yet in terms of the variety of events and diversity of fields covered. This year's STF is covering over an area of 33,000 square meters, includes 1500 booths, and has nine pavilions in total including three new ones:"One Belt, One Road", "Tourism Toilet" and "Self-driving and RV (Recreational Vehicle) camping".
Travelling salesman from both sides of Taiwan Strait will join hands to launch exquisite tour itinerary products and offer promotional discounts on hotels and entrance tickets to scenic spots. Furthermore, there will be a "Fujian-Taiwan Tourism Product Hypermarket" and a “Tourism Interactive Experience Area”. As the host city, Xiamen is organising the discounted sale of tourism commodities, tourist attractions and itinerary products amounting to more than 10 million yuan. Additionally, there are a great many souvenirs to take away and exotic dances and singing performances for visitors to enjoy.
50,000 entrance tickets were given out by travel agencies for free. Those who don't have entrance tickets yet can go to Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center Hall C with a second-generation ID card and purchase tickets for ten yuan.
The year's STF follows hard on the heels of the Hainan Tourism Promotion & Investment Attraction Symposium which was also held in Xiamen to connect Xiamen, Hainan and Taiwan and promote exchange and cooperation.
