From April 30th to May 2nd, Xiamen Workers' Stadium will open to the public for free its swimming pool and sports halls offering badminton, tennis, table-tennis, and basketball, a Xiamen Union official announced yesterday.
To ensure and maintain order, the stadium, which will be open from 8:30 a.m to 9:00 p.m, will not be taking reservations. Visitors will need to pick up tickets before entering the stadium and everyone will have an hour at most in each hall.
In addition, Xiamen Workers' Stadium will offer a number of open sport classes such as swimming (April 30th & May 7th), badminton (late May) and martial arts (late May). The first class in May will be a swimming class focusing on breaststroke that will and also teach beginners pool safety. From April 25th, residents can go to the Xiamen Workers' Stadium's official Wechat account to reserve a place on these classes.
The open sport classes, initiated this year, are a new public welfare program aimed at instructing particular sports. Classes will be held periodically and application for them is free.
