The 2015-2016 China Final of Miss Tourism World (MTW), one of the five most prestigious beauty contests in the world, will be held in Xiamen Garden Expo (Yuanbo Garden) on May 6th, the first time this event comes to Fujian Province.

The final, which will include various categories such as swimsuit, fashion style, evening dress and traditional Chinese Qipao, will be directed by top-class directors Zhang Yanfeng and Yan Hua, and their team which took part in the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games, thus guaranteeing a visual feast. In addition, traditional Chinese art and some international fashion performances will also be put on alongside the final.

Xiamen Garden Expo, known as the ‘grand garden on the sea’, is a National 4A level scenic spot with beautiful views. The team will make full use of the overlapping light and shadow in the buildings which, when combined with modern sound and light effects, will fully show the ladies’s beauty.

The theme of the final is, ‘All the beauty in Jimei’, and it aims to not only show the contestants at their best but  also display the distinctive culture of Jimei. “We hope that the contest can fully show both the international and local, the traditional and modern and the healthy and humanistic idea of beauty” explained Song Siyuan, the chairman of the MTW China Committee.

All the 20 ladies in the final will participate in the Cultural Jimei MTV program that will promote tourism by showing the world the scenery, buildings, culture and history of Jimei.

The first Miss Tourism World was held in Houston, USA, in 1968, and it has now become one of the most famous beauty contests in the world, as well as an important platform to promote tourism brands globally. The MTW 2015-2016 China Final will benefit not only Jimei but also tourism throughout Fujian.
