Business delegations and corporations from over 40 countries and regions confirmed participation in the annual China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), according to the organizers.
The CIFIT, China's only international investment promotion event aimed at facilitating bilateral investment and trade, is scheduled to open on September 8 and end on September 11 each year in Xiamen, a coastal city in Fujian province.
According to the organizers, more than 30,000 domestic and overseas investment projects will be promoted during this year's event, aiming to boost global investment in emerging industries and key destinations.
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, one of the co-sponsors of the CIFIT, will publicize the 2016 world investment report. The UN Industrial Development Organization will unveil a report on investment in Africa, according to the organizers.
China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
