The event record of men's race in Xiamen is 02:06:19 set by Kenya's Moses Mosop last year, breaking the best marathon record in China region. And Ethiopia's Mare Dibaba won the women's title with 02:19:52 and broke the record of Xiamen International Marathon.
Moses Mosop and Mare Dibaba each received prize money of $US80, 000 and $US60, 000 respectively last year.
