The 8th Global Conference for Fujianese convened in Xiamen, Fujian province, on Oct 9. More than 1,600 Fujian natives from 70 countries and regions gathered at the triennial event to boost ties and push cooperation. In a congratulatory letter, Fujian Party chief You Quan writes “Fujian has grown into one of the key areas in the country with preferential policies that make it increasingly competitive. Situated in the core area of China’s 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Fujian will enhance cooperation with countries in Southeastern Asia, where overseas Fujianese can play an important role and make contributions.” [Photo/chinadaily.com.cn]
