As a session of China International Fair for Investment & Trade in Xiamen, Tthe 2015 Overseas Chinese Merchants Iinvestment Ffair took place on Sept 8 onin the first floor of the Xiamen Conference Exhibition Center. The fair formed part of the larger China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen.
Lin Yifu, a well-known Chinese economist and vice -chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, delivered a keynote speech atto the fair.
The fair was composed of three sections:
1- Speeches of representatives from Shanghai, Guangdong, Tianjin and Fujian free trade zones (FTZ). The speeches, to shared the characteristics of thethe FTZss’ characteristics, innovation and some preferential policies to overseas Chinese merchants.
2- Four influential overseas Chinese merchants in industries of finance, logistics and service trade to shared exchanges on how to take full advantages whenin cooperating with abundant overseas Chinese enterprises, and how to make the most use of the FTZs’ preferential policies.
3- Several experts were invited to provide advice and suggestions on the construction and development of the FTZs.
The forum was sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Fujian Provincial People’s Government and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government.
A total of 300 officials, overseas Chinese merchants, representatives of free trade zones and experts attended the forum, including Tan Tianxing, deputy director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Zheng Xiaosong, governor of Fujian province and Zhan Cangzhou, Xiamen’s secretary of politics and law committee.

Founded in 2007, the annual trade fair for overseas Chinese merchants has been held for successive eight successive years. The fair is held during the China International Fair for Investment & Trade in Xiamen every year.

China announced and implemented on May 15 a policy allowing visa-free entry of foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships via all cruise ship ports along the country's coastline.
China and Georgia are set to waive visa requirements for travelers starting May 28.
