The 2015 International Investment Forum will be launched on September 8 and 9 in Xiamen, Fujian province, on the sideline of China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT).
Apart from the main forum which is on the topic of intellectually building a new international investment landscape, the organizers will also hold five sub-forums, covering topics of the Belt and Road Initiative, free trade zone construction as well as the Internet Plus program, a new business model combining the Internet with traditional industries. In addition, a press conference and an investment salon will also be organized during the event.
Representatives who will attend the forum and deliver speeches include prominent figures such as Li Yong, Director General of United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Jack Ma, founder and chairman of China's e-commerce giant Alibaba Group, and economist Justin Lin Yifu, vice-chairman of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.
The event, co-organized by the Ministry of Commerce and China Central Television, aims at providing a significant platform for countries along the Maritime Silk Road to cooperate with each other as well as enhance Xiamen's status as a strategically important city to facilitate the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative.
