China, Brazil sister cities hold light shows
Sister cities of China and Brazil, including Xiamen and Fortaleza in the northeastern state of Ceara in Brazil, held spectacular light shows on their iconic buildings on the evening of August 15th in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Over 60 pairs of sister cities of China and Brazil have engaged in sub-national cooperation, playing a key role in enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, promoting bilateral relations, and fostering friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
Xiamen established sister ties with Fortaleza in last May. In April, the two cities held a photography exhibition in Fortaleza. Xiamen presented Fortaleza with books introducing Chinese modernization, culture and local customs and traditions.
The two cities have reached consensus to seize the opportunities presented by the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil to further deepen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as healthcare and talent development.
