Xiamen Party chief meets with Fiji's prime minister
Cui Yonghui, secretary of the Communist Party of China Xiamen Municipal Committee, met with Fijian Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and his delegation on August 14th in Xiamen, Southeast China's Fujian Province.
Cui briefed the delegation about the economic and social development of Xiamen, emphasizing that Fiji is a good friend and partner of China.
He said that Xiamen, as a strategic hub for maritime cooperation, sees Fiji as an important partner in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative.
Cui expressed the hope that both sides would fully implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries.
He also called on them to leverage the visit to further boost exchanges and cooperation in areas such as trade, maritime affairs, culture and tourism.
This would facilitate friendly interactions between the peoples of the two countries, promote economic prosperity and actively contribute to the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Fiji.
Rabuka expressed Fiji's willingness to deepen exchanges and cooperation with Xiamen to achieve mutual benefits and better serve the people of both sides.
