Xiamen CPC Secretary meets France's ambassador to China
Cui Yonghui, secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, met with a delegation led by French Ambassador to China Bertrand Lortholary on March 23 in Xiamen city, Southeast China's Fujian province.
Cui briefed the delegation about Xiamen's role as one of the earliest Special Economic Zones in China, saying it is a city of reform and opening-up as well as a gateway for promoting integrated development across Taiwan Strait and serving the reunification of the motherland.
He noted that Xiamen has maintained close ties with France, resulting in fruitful exchanges and cooperation.
Cui pledged to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries and to leverage the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations to deepen cultural exchanges.
He also promised to strengthen the Xiamen-Nice sister-city relations, as well as to boost cooperation in commerce, trade and investment to contribute to the solid growth of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and France.
For his part, Lortholary commended Xiamen on its long history, beautiful natural environment, first-class universities and great business environment.
He declared that France is willing to enhance its friendly relations with Xiamen and expand cooperation in such fields as culture, education, tourism and science and technology.
