Xiamen holds briefing for consular corps
On Jan 22, the 2024 New Year Briefing for Xiamen Consular Corps was held. Resident consular officers were briefed on the city's economic and social progress in 2023, as well as the main development goals in 2024.
Zhuang Rongliang, Vice Mayor of Xiamen, briefed the consular officers on Xiamen's efforts to promote high-quality development in 2023, saying that the city has a long history of exchanges with the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, particularly in economy, trade and culture.
In 2024, Xiamen will continue to promote in-depth and pragmatic cooperation with the three countries in digital economy, green economy, marine economy, port logistics, and more to steadily boost cooperation, he said.
Maria Antonina Mendoza Oblena, Chng Tze Chia, and Ms Nilobol Pimdee, consul generals of the Philippines, Singapore and acting consul general of Thailand in Xiamen, respectively, attended the briefing. They expressed their hope of strengthening communication and collaboration with Xiamen to create a better future.
