Efforts to further enhance Sino-French ties
Zhuang Rongliang, Vice Mayor of Xiamen, met with Sylvain Fourriere, the Consul General of France in Guangzhou, and his delegation on Jan 22.
Zhuang said that since Xiamen and Nice became sister cities in May 2014, the two cities have carried out fruitful exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
Noting that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, Zhuang expressed hope that both sides will use the strategic consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries as a guide to strengthen cooperation.
He welcomed French companies to participate in high-level exhibitions, sporting events, film festivals, and other activities held in Xiamen, and to share in the city's development opportunities.
Fourriere hailed the close ties between France and Xiamen, saying French companies in Xiamen have praised the city's business environment. He expressed hope that his visit will serve as an opportunity to further enhance cooperation between the two sides.
