Swiss Ambassador to China visits Xiamen
Cui Yonghui, secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, met with Jurg Burri, ambassador of Switzerland to China on Jan 8.
Cui said that Xiamen in East China's Fujian province and Switzerland share many similarities and there is much that Xiamen can learn and draw inspiration from Switzerland. He noted that exchanges and cooperation between the two sides have become stronger and yielded fruitful results in recent years.
He also expressed hope that both sides will strengthen cooperation in areas such as technology innovation, industrial development, and vocational education under the framework of the China-Switzerland innovative strategic partnership.
Cui pointed out that Xiamen welcomes more Swiss investments and will continue to create a first-class business environment by building an innovative ecosystem and providing better conditions to facilitate the development of Swiss companies such as ABB in Xiamen.
Ambassador Burri commended the achievements in Xiamen's economic and social development and expressed gratitude for the support and assistance provided to Swiss companies in Xiamen.
He said that Xiamen is open, inclusive, livable, and business-friendly.
He added that Switzerland is willing to deepen exchanges with Xiamen and promote two-way investment and trade, with a view to achieving shared prosperity and further contributing to the development of the China-Switzerland innovative strategic partnership.
