Belt and Road think tanks scholars visit Xiamen

A delegation of 16 scholars from Belt and Road think tanks visited Xiamen from Dec 3 to 6.

Zhuang Rongliang, vice-mayor of Xiamen city in East China's Fujian province, met with the delegation and briefly introduced to scholars the socio-economic development of Xiamen. 

Zhuang expressed his hopes that the delegates would explore Xiamen to witness the achievements the city has made in promoting Chinese path to modernization, explore potential areas for cooperation, and promote mutually beneficial development at a broader scope and higher level.

Zamir Ahmed Awan, the delegation's leader and chairperson of the Pakistan Global Silk Road Research Alliance, stated that the visit was timely and would further leverage the expertise of scholars and think tanks to actively support the Belt and Road Initiative. The visit aims to explore more cooperation opportunities between member countries and China and bring greater benefits to the peoples of all nations.

The delegation visited China following an invitation from the China Center for Contemporary World Studies. The members hail from 11 countries including Pakistan, Romania, and Kazakhstan.
