The opening ceremony of the Fujian branch for the 2023 North East Asia Youth Sustainable Development Camp was held in Xiamen – a coastal city in East China's Fujian province – on Oct 10.

Thirty-six youths from 12 countries participated in this 7-day, 6-night camp themed "technological innovation, shared future".

Zhang Wei, the deputy director of the Training and Exchange Center of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF), said the purpose of the camp is to welcome young people from around the world who dare to innovate.

Lin Na, vice-president of the Xiamen People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said during the event she hopes participants will enhance mutual understanding and promote exchanges and cooperation among Chinese and foreign youths through experiencing Fujian's long history, culture, beautiful scenery, and the high-quality development results achieved in the economic, social, and technological fields.

A representative from the iMR company of the Republic of Korea called for foreign and Chinese participants to form profound relationships that will withstand the test of time.
