Tan Kah-kee, also known as Chen Jiageng, was born in Jimei community, Tong'an county, East China's Fujian province (current Jimei district in Xiamen) on Oct 21, 1874. He was a renowned patriotic overseas Chinese leader and business pioneer, who was also devoted to education and charity in China.

陈嘉庚于1874年10月21日出生于福建省同安县集美社(今厦门市集美区),是伟大的爱国主义者,杰出的华侨领袖,著名的实业家、教育家和社会活动家。

The memorial sites for Tan are the Aoyuan Garden (or Turtle Garden), Tan Kah Kee Memorial Museum, Guilai Hall, Guilai Park, as well as the Former Residence of Tan Kah-kee.

陈嘉庚纪念胜地由鳌园、陈嘉庚纪念馆、归来堂和归来园、陈嘉庚先生故居等组成。
