Ten books were recognized as the most beautiful in Chinese mainland and Taiwan on Oct 12, according to the 2018 Cross-Straits Book Binding Design Invitational held in Xiamen, Fujian province.
Starting from May this year, the competition has received nearly 1,500 entries from approximately 180 publishing agencies across the Taiwan Straits, including children's books, picture books of traditional Chinese culture and government affairs-related books.
Top 10 cross-Straits beautiful children's books have also been chosen out of the candidate books for the first time during the competition.
The award-winning books are expected to be showcased at the upcoming Cross-Straits Cultural Industry Fair, which will be held from Nov 2 to 5 in Xiamen.
Guided by Fujian Publication Distribution Industry Association and Cross-Straits Publishing Exchange Association in Taiwan, the competition was organized by Xiamen Daily agency together with other nine publishing agencies.
